Celebration on Central

Lancaster resident Michelle Burakowski, above, and her daughter, Christine, 14, admire the renovation done to the facade of 27 Central Ave., which is currently vacant and available for tenants, on Oct. 13 during Celebration on Central, which marked the completion of construction to several Central Avenue businesses. At left, Lancaster resident Brenda Feder samples goods baked by Renata Greco of Renata’s Cupcake Café, a possible future tenant of the vacant shop. The facade renovations were made possible through a $200,000 New York Main Street Foundation Grant that was obtained by the Lancaster Village Community Development Corp. in 2008 to help businesses update their buildings. The owners of eight buildings on Central Avenue took advantage of the funding, including The New York Store, Ava’s Fancy Pants, Aquino Law Office, William Schutt & Associates, the chamber, Schaff Realty, Insurance and Law and the owners of two vacant buildings.
