Lancaster man charged with felony DWI

A Village of Lancaster man has been charged with driving while intoxicated in the Town of Clarence.

While on patrol on Sunday, an Erie County sheriff’s deputy, B. Stott, observed a vehicle on Main Street, near Gunnville Road, that was unable to stay on the right side of the road and was being driven on the shoulder.

Stott stopped the vehicle, which was being operated by a driver identified as 55-year-old John Graney,

Further investigation led to the arrest of Graney, who was charged with driving while intoxicated. Graney was taken to the Sheriff’s substation in Clarence and a chemical breath test was administered. The test revealed a blood alcohol content of .18 percent, more than twice the legal limit, according to information from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.

Due to a prior conviction in July 2002, Graney was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and various other vehicle and traffic infractions. He was released to a family member on uniform traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Clarence Court at a future date.
