February is on the horizon as the Lancaster Parks and Recreation Department adult volleyball leagues complete their third month of play. This long upcoming month is traditionally the one that separates the contenders from the pretenders as playoff loom in March.

Two such teams having good years so far are the leaders of the Men’s Tuesday Night League, Paul Batts Green Buffalo Pub, and the “A” League leaders.

The Recreation Department is saddened to announce the sudden passing of Ron Ritter. Ritter just recently officiated in the women’s volleyball league on court “A” at the high school, as he has for years, as well as the women’s outdoor summer league. Ritter also umpired in women’s softball leagues during the 1980s and ‘90s as well as working other recreational programs for the Town.

Men’s League

Tuesday Night League

Division leader Green Buffalo Pub-Batt upped their division lead to three games as they swept the Attach, 3-0. Second-place Frank’s took two of three from the Green Buffalo Pub Wife Dodgers, dropping them a little farther back of the division leaders. Jay’s Barber Shop is a solid third after a three-game sweep of Good Tymes South-Zeigler.

Wednesday Night ‘A’ League

Things are tied at the top as Team Steinel moved to 24-3 with a 3-0 sweep of the Free Agents. Elma Town Grille-Schlesinger also has a share of first after their 3-0 conquest of Green Buffalo Pub-Klock.

Wednesday Night ‘B’ League

Division leader Chucksters took two of three from Green Buffalo Pub-Kicak. Green Buffalo Pub-Nuwer moves into third in the division after they swept Sal’s, 3-0.

Women’s League

‘A’ League

Division leader Green Buffalo Pub-Kremer opened up a three-game lead in the division as they swept Frank’s-Rudz, 3-0. Second-place Good Tymes South-Weber is now three back as they won two of three from Fassel’s Upholstering. Ellicott Manor is now four games out of fourth after a 3-0 conquest of the Frank’s Hot Saucies. Served Better Cold goes three games over .500 with their 3-0 sweep of the Basil Ford Outlaws.

‘B1’ League

Division-leader Fireside Inn-Hubert now leads by five after they swept Good Tymes South-Schalberg, 3-0. Perfect Ten is now in second by virtue of their 2-1 win over Fireside Inn-Guari, who fell to third in the division. Hit ‘n Run surprised Maryan’s, 2-1, as Maryan’s remains in fourth in the division.

‘B2’ League

The division-leading Served Better Cold had a tough evening as they dropped two of three to the Volleydolls. The Polish Falcons moved into second as they swept Smith’s Gun Shop, 3-0. The Spinoffs are in third after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over DeRonde Tire.

‘C’ League

In a battle for first, division-leader Frank’s swept away second-place Sgt. Pepperoni’s, 3-0, to open up a five-game lead in the division. The Villagers are in third after a 2-1 win over Bridal Chateau, while the Nite Crew took two of three from the Desperate Housewives.

Second-place Green Buffalo Pub-Kremer dropped a game as they only managed to capture two of three from Green Buffalo Pub-Wohlrab. In a battle for fourth in the division, LHSMD grabbed the spot with a 2-1 decision over Sal’s-Mescall.
