Ryan Mercovich of Lancaster graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a doctorate in imaging science from RIT’s College of Science in the winter 2011–12 quarter.
Tegan VanArtsdalen, daughter of Janine Barone of Depew, earned the O’Reilly Environmental Science Scholarship from Brockport State College. She will be an environmental science major with a concentration in terrestrial ecology.
Catherine Rotterman of Lancaster was recently inducted into Phi Sigma Tau, the national honor society for philosophy at the University of Scranton. Rotterman is a junior.
Brendan Murphy, a resident of Lancaster, graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the College of Business at Alfred University. He is the son of Coleen Murphy and a graduate of Bishop Timon-Saint Jude High School.
Nazareth College named the following Lancaster students to the dean’s list for the spring semester: Melissa Bulas, Casey Dudziak, Brianna Miller, Leah Scherer and Michelle Scotland. Nikki Morris and Kelsey Sharp, both of Depew, were also named to the list.
Lancaster resident Brian J. Halicki was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army during a Reserve Officers’ Train- ing Corps commissioning ceremony at Canisius College. Halicki graduated from Canisius with a bachelor’s degree in international business. He is assigned to the military intelligence branch, 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, Fort Lewis, Wash.
Medaille College has named the following Depew students to its dean’s list: Ronald Brennan, Michael Lichtenberger, Derrick Lichtenberger, Andrea Mayer and Robert Tyler.
Aubrey Kucewicz of Lancaster, a junior at Brockport State College majoring in psychology/ health science, made the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester.
