Fire breaks out in unoccupied home

The Lancaster Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire at 2046 Como Park Blvd. shortly before 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, flames were visible coming from the second story of the 2.5 story wood frame house. The single-family home was undergoing renovations at the time of the fire and was unoccupied, although the blaze caused an estimated $30,000 in damage, according to Scott Kuhlmey, chief of the Lancaster Fire Department.

No injuries were reported. Lancaster Volunteer Ambulance Corps provided medical support at the scene and Twin District Fire Company provided a Firefighter Assist and Search Team.
