Dizziness group to meet

Chiavetta’s barbecue slated

Faith United Methodist Church, 5505 Broadway, Lancaster, will hold a Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue from 11:30 a.m. until sold out on Sunday, May 29. Dinners can be eaten in or taken out and include baked beans, coleslaw, buttered roll and homemade cake. Presale tickets are $9 and can be purchased by contacting Loretta at 683-3311 or at the door for $10.

Blessed Mother Teresa sets BBQ

Blessed Mother Teresa Parish, 496 Terrace Blvd., Depew, will hold a Krolick’s chicken barbecue dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 25. Tickets cost $10, but there will be $3 macaroni and cheese dinners for children younger than 12. Cock Robin Band will provide music in the beer tent, where proceeds will benefit the parish’s Caring & Sharing ministry, which assists local families. For tickets, call 683-2746.

Pulled pork dinner planned

The Lt. Col. Matt Urban Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7275 will hold a pulled pork pig roast from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at 3741 Walden Ave. Tickets are $15 and include two pulled pork sandwiches, beer, pop, three sides and a dessert. The event will include drink specials, raffles and a bell jar. A limited number of tickets are available and can be purchased by calling 681-8387.

Garden Club to discuss butterflies

The Lancaster Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at St. John’s Lutheran Hall, 55 Pleasant Ave. David O’Donnell will present a program on monarch butterflies titled “Beauty in Motion.” Guests and new members are welcome.

Annunciation schedules barbecue

The Annunciation Holy Name Society will hold a chicken barbecue dinner from noon until sold out on Sunday, June 12, at the Annunciation Church Selbert Hall, 7580 Clinton St. Tickets are $11 for adults or $6 for children 12 and younger and dinners include mashed potatoes. Takeout services will be available.

Hockey team to host meat raffle

The Buffalo Regals, a travel hockey team with members from Lancaster, West Seneca and Orchard Park, will host a meat raffle at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at the Lancaster Moose Lodge, 5437 Broadway, Lancaster. An open bar will take place from 6 to 10 p.m., and raffles will begin at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes beer, wine and pop, and pizza will be available for purchase. Meat raffle planned for June 3

Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish will hold its eighth annual Get Ready for Summer Meat Raffle with doors opening at 6 p.m. Friday, June 3, at St. James Church Hall, 500 Terrace Blvd., Depew. The event will include steaks, chicken, ribs and hot dogs as well as a theme basket auction and 50/50 split club. Admission is $5 and includes a roast beef or turkey sandwich, beer, pop, snacks and a ticket for the door prize.

Barbecue to benefit Aetna Hose Co.

The Aetna Hose Company of the Depew Fire Department will hold a chicken barbecue from noon until sold out on Saturday, June 4, at the Depew South Side Fire Hall, 45 Meridian St., Depew. Dinners cost $10 and are prepared by company firefighters, to include a half-chicken, homemade potato salad, green salad, dinner rolls and dessert. Beverages are available, and meals can be takeout. A picnic set, 50/50 and basket raffles will be held.
