Friends of Reinstein Woods Events

The following events are scheduled at the Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve, 93 Honorine Drive, Depew, unless otherwise noted. For more information or to register for a specific event, call 683-5959.

Teachers in Nature: Professional development series

Sign up for one or more workshops to learn how to connect your students to nature. Workshops run from 4 to 7 p.m. The schedule is as follows: Oct. 11 — Schoolyard Habitat; Oct. 18 — Aquatic Wild; Nov. 8 — STEM in the Schoolyard; Nov. 15 — Flying Wild; Dec. 6 — Classroom Citizen Science; and Dec. 13 — Growing Up Wild. Continuing Teacher and Leader Education credit hours may be available for select programs. Registration is required.

After-school escape

Children and their parents or caregivers can enjoy a different hour-long outdoor activity each week, starting at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5. The program is for children in kindergarten through grade five. No registration is required.

Woods Walk: Nature guide’s choice

Join a guided nature walk through the woods at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7. No registration is required.

Reinstein Woods Through the Years

Join former intern Jerry Krajna to learn about the history of Reinstein Woods, as well as his own perspective of the changes during the past 10 years, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11. Registration is required.
