SAVE THE DATE — Local organizations and businesses are gearing up for holiday events, with efforts to give back to the community through food and clothing drives.

The Leo Club at Depew High School is hosting a coat drive to collect clean, gently worn, warm coats, scarves, gloves and hats until Jan. 12.

The Leo Club looks to collect 250 coats and $250. Visit www.onewarmcoat.org to donate or learn more.

Donations will be sent to the Salvation Army and Journey’s End Refugee Services in Buffalo.

ORNAMENTS — The Lancaster Historical Society will be selling Christmas ornaments during the holiday season in order to fund building restoration for the Historical Society Building, at 40 Clark St. in Lancaster.

The candy-red ornament has a black sketch rendering of the building, along with “Lancaster, NY” and “Historical Museum 1895” printed along the edges.

Ornaments cost $10 and can be purchased from 2 to 4 p.m. Sundays at the Clark Street location.
