Harris Hill administrator wins leadership award

Hart Hart Jonathan Hart, administrator at The McGuire Group’s Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Lancaster, is a recipient of the 2018 Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award presented by the American College of Health Care Administrators.

Hart will be recognized at the ACHCA’s 52nd annual convocation and exposition on April 24, according to Harris Hill staff.

The award was introduced in 2008 by one of ACHCA’s most revered leaders, the late Eli Pick, and seeks to identify high-performing skilled nursing facilities and the leaders who make them excel.

The award is a distinction of significance, as only 11 percent of facilities nationwide qualify. Likewise, of the more than 550 nursing homes in New York State, only 221 qualified, Harris Hill staff said.

Hart has been the administrator at Harris Hill Nursing Facility since 2006 and is responsible for the overall operation of the facility. He resides on Grand Island.

The ACHCA’s awards program uses data-driven criteria collected by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and includes Minimum Data Set quality indicators, which are U.S. federally mandated processes for clinical assessment of residents under Medicare or Medicaid, occupancy information and three years of survey data to identify the top-performing facilities.

Some of the quality measures evaluated include pain, pressure ulcers, psychotropic medications, urinary tract infections and hospital readmission rates.
