Lancaster Library to hold book sale

The Lancaster Public Library will have a book and bake sale from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 20; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 21, and Saturday, April 22; and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 23. The first day is for Friends of the Library and Women’s Civic Club only at $10 a bag; the following days are $8, $5 then $3 per bag.

Our Lady of Pompeii slates meat raffle

South Line schedules babysitting course

The South Line Fire Company will host a free babysitting course from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the fire hall, 1049 French Road, Cheektowaga. Doors will open at noon for registration. The course is open to all potential babysitters age 12 and above. Each participant will receive a certificate of completion and a babysitters packet.

St. Mary’s offers meditation, yoga

Scouts to host meat raffle

The Friends of Boy Scout Troop 601 will host a meat raffle at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at Polish Falcons, 4445 Columbia Ave. in Depew. Historical society plans new program

The Lancaster Historical Society will will have Greg Kinal speak on “Unknown American History” at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at the Lancaster Historical Society Museum, 40 Clark St. This is the first time Kinal will present these forgotten stories in the WNY area.

Lancaster Dog Park meetings scheduled

For those interested in getting a dog park in Lancaster, meetings will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. every third Wednesday of the month until Nov. 15 at the Lancaster Library, 5466 Broadway. Discussions involve fundraising ideas and efforts to get commitment from the county and town.
