‘Evening on the Greens’ planned

The Lancaster Area Chamber of Commerce will have its “Evening on the Greens” from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Fox Valley Club, 6161 Genesee St. in Lancaster. The event will feature wine tasting, specialty beer tasting and a silent auction. Visit www.wnychamber.com /events for details.

Alumni foundation to host mixer

The Lancaster Educational Alumni Foundation is hosting its annual LEAF mixer from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at The Cove, 4701 Transit Road in Depew. Nerds Gone Wild will take the stage at 9:18 p.m. Tickets are $30 each or $50 for couples, presale; $35 each or $60 for couples, at the door. Cub Scout chicken barbecue set

Hockey team to hold meat raffle

Buffalo Regals Junior Hockey will host a meat raffle from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Depew/Lancaster Moose Lodge, 5437 Broadway. Admission is $5 advance or $8 at the door. Reserved tables of 8 are $60. Beer and soda are provided. Bring your own snacks, but no outside alcohol is permitted. Faith United to host veteran breakfast

Faith United Methodist Church will host its veterans breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at 5505 Broadway, Lancaster. Veterans from all branches of the military are invited to attend; program speaker is Vietnam veteran Pastor Westley Tessey.

Trinity Episcopal sets Snowflake Bazaar

Trinity Episcopal Church is having its Snowflake Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at 5448 Broadway in Lancaster. There will be tables for rent, crafts, a bake sale, basket raffle, 50/50 split drawing and rummage sale. The kitchen will serve clam chowder and sandwiches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Lancaster Historical Society will have its craft sale from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at 40 Clark St. in Lancaster. A basket raffle will benefit the building restoration fund.

Seneca Hose plans November vendor fair

Seneca Hose Fire Co. will hold a vendor fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the fire hall, 2801 Seneca St., West Seneca. Fifty vendors and crafters will be at the event. Donations of canned goods will be accepted at this time.

Dog park meetings scheduled

Those interested in organizing a dog park in Lancaster will meet at 7 p.m. the third Wednesday of every month until Nov. 15 at the Lancaster Library, 5466 Broadway. Discussions involve fundraising ideas and efforts to get commitments from the county and town.

Lancaster Garden Club sets event

The Lancaster Garden Club will help decorate the Theodore Roosevelt site on Monday, Nov. 27, at 641 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo. The club will also be at Westwood Park for a community holiday event from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28.

St. Mary’s schedules driver education

St. Mary’s High School has partnered with AAA of Central and Western New York to offer driver education classes to its students and members of the community from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays until Nov. 28. The first half of the program is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at 142 Laverack Ave, in Lancaster, while the second half will be in the car from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The program costs $520; visit www.smhlancers.org for details and to download registration forms.

Santa is coming to Westwood Park

The Town of Lancaster will once again sponsor Santa at Westwood from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at the park pavilion, 175 Pavement Road in Lancaster. Santa will arrive by fire truck and read a story to children. There will also be hay rides, letter writing to Santa and refreshments. Call the recreation office at 684-3320 for details.
