Pompeii plans prayer night

Verizon Wireless to open Dec. 8

The Lancaster Area Chamber of Commerce will welcome Verizon Wireless with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at 3263 Walden Ave. in Lancaster. Residents are encouraged to shop grand opening deals for holiday gift giving.

Senior Center plans dinner

The Lancaster Senior Center will hold its Christmas dinner dance from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at 11 Oxford Ave. in Lancaster. Dinner starts at 2 p.m., and dancing begins at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person. Reserve a spot by calling 685-3498 by Friday, Dec. 1.

Historical Society sets party

‘Polish Christmas’ comes to LOH

The Lancaster Opera House will host the Polish Heritage Dancers of Western New York as they present “Polish Christmas in the Village,” at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at 21 Central Ave. in Lancaster. A family will partake in Polish traditions as a narrator explains the meaning behind them, including Polish folk dancing, and traditional Polish carols will be sung. Rotary raffle scheduled

The Lancaster-Depew Rotary’s “Watercolor for Fresh Water” raffle will help raise funds for the clean water project, an international endeavor.
