Canal Fest — Opening ceremonies for the 36th annual twin cities celebration begin at noon Sunday, July 15, on the Renaissance Bridge followed by the fifth annual Vintage Firetruck Muster (noon-6 p.m.). The Charles Fleischman Canal Fest Parade will step off at Grove and Minerva streets in Tonawanda at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, and follow Main Street across the bridge and end at Webster and Goundry streets in North Tonawanda. Other events include the Car Cruise on Wednesday, July 18; the Tim Frank Memorial 4-Miler Run and Diaper Derby on Thursday, July 19; T-NT’s Got Talent contest and Bike Cruise on Friday, July 20; the annual Arts & Crafts Show (10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, July 21, and Sunday, July 22); and the Grand Finale Fireworks at dusk Sunday, July 22.
