Bee Heard

.It’s time for the taxpayers of Lancaster to say no to the town, school and highway budgets. It’s a shame when my taxes per month are higher than my mortgage payment. Do we really need all these amenities? Wake up and vote.

.I applaud the caller last week who bought his own tote; I suspect it also had a cover, which puts him in the vast minority in the town who don’t cover their garbage and whose recycling bins empty out with the wind and you have dances of milk bottles, papers and cardboard going down the streets. It’s past time for the town to buy totes.

.I live in the Village of Depew. Our garbage and recyclables are picked up by Waste Management. We have large wheeled totes for both; they provide for clean and easy disposal. Recyclables are picked up every other week, and that is not a problem because of the size of the tote.
