Aetna Hose Company to host meat raffle

The Aetna Hose Company of the Depew Fire Department will host a meat raffle Friday, Nov. 9, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall, 4569 Broadway, Depew. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m., and the raffle will start at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $5. Tables of eight cost $35 and can be reserved by contacting John at 863-1973 or by aetnahosecompany@gmail.com.

Men’s Bible study set for Saturdays

St. Mary of the Assumption Church will offer a men’s Bible study group called “Helping Each Other Revive Discipleship” from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturdays, Nov. 17 and Dec. 15, in Room 140 at the St. Mary’s Elementary School building, 2 St. Mary’s Hill, Lancaster. Snowflake Bazaar slated at church

Trinity Episcopal Church will hold its Snowflake Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at 5448 Broadway in Lancaster. The event will feature handmade crafts, baked goods, a rummage sale, and a basket and 50/50 raffle. Homemade clam chowder and a sandwich lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Lodge to host free spaghetti dinner

One-Stop Carwash to offer free washes

One-Stop Carwash, 4535 Broadway, will offer a free car wash from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov. 11, to anyone who has served in the armed forces.

St. Mary’s offers rite for adults

Halfway to Dyngus Day party set

Lt. Col. Matt Urban VFW Post 7275 will hold its Halfway to Dyngus Day party from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at 3741 Walden Ave., Lancaster. Post to hold Veterans Day dinner

The Lt. Col. Matt Urban VFW Post 7275 will host a Veterans Day steak dinner from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the post, 3741 Walden Ave., Lancaster. Tickets cost $12 presale or $13 at the door. Family conference slated for Nov. 29

Lancaster museum to host craft sale

The Lancaster Historical Society Museum will host a holiday craft sale from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the museum, 40 Clark St., Lancaster. There will also be a basket raffle to benefit the Building Restoration Fund. Admission is free and includes refreshments.

Church to hold talk on Advent

Sister Francesca Buczkowski will present “Advent Anticipation” at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 129 Laverack Ave., Lancaster. Reflecting on the sacred time where Emmanuel calls people to be refreshed in spirit, Sister Buczkowski’s talk will explain how to relax, reflect and celebrate the season of Advent anticipation. Local 846 UAW to hear speaker

The Local 846 United Automobile Workers will hold its next meeting at noon Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 35 George Karl Blvd. in Amherst. Rick Falkowski will speak about the history of music. The group’s December meeting will be a Christmas party at noon Wednesday, Dec. 12.

Women’s Civic Club meeting scheduled

The Women’s Civic Club will hold its monthly meeting at noon Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Lancaster Municipal Building, 5423 Broadway. A speaker from Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve will give a presentation titled “Reinstein Woods, Living with Deer.” Guests are welcome, and refreshments will be served.

Santa is coming to Westwood Park

The Town of Lancaster will once again sponsor Santa at Westwood from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at the park pavilion, 175 Pavement Road in Lancaster. Santa will arrive by fire truck and read a story to the children. There will also be hay rides, letter writing to Santa, ornament decorating, face painting and refreshments. Call the recreation office at 684-3320 for more information. There is no cost for the event.

Grief support group to meet

The Grief Recovery After Substance Passing peer support group, for loved ones of those who have died due to addiction or overdose, will meet at 2:30 p.m. the first Sunday of each month at the Lancaster Elks Lodge, 33 Legion Drive, Lancaster.
